私は前作となった「スカイ・クロラ」を読まないままにこの本を手にとりました。

ディティールを明かさないままに、
世界観を表現しないままに、
テンポよく、難解な表現を持たず、
言葉足りずだけれども、疑問は残さない。
そうして淡々と戦闘機乗りの空と地上でのドラマが綴られています。

それが無駄を一切消去した彼のスタンスなのか、
彼の素直な描き方であったのか。
ただ私にわかることは著者の独創性、作品の自由度。
そして私に残ったのは爽快感。

それは計算されたものであったかもしれないし、そうでなかったのかもしれません。
ただただ私は、人との交流を厭い、空に思いを馳せ、
そして死というものを空で眠る、という非常に詩的な解釈を持って語られる主人公、
その余りにもまっすぐで、淀みのないキャラクターに惹かれていました。

主人公の素直さに、最初は困惑してしまいましたが、
読み進めるとともに幼いころに置いてきた大切なものを思い出したと同時に、
自身が素直に生きることを忘れていたことにも気づきました。
それは決してノスタルジックなものではなくて、新鮮で心地よいものです。

ちょっとだけ、ほんの少しだけでも自分を変えたい方にオススメです！

荘丁の美しさがとっても魅力なので、
店頭で見つけたときにはぜひ手にとって見てみてください。

「スカイ・クロラ」の時もそうだったのですが
読了後は、頭の中にあった訳の分からないモヤモヤが消えていました。
何かが体に吸収されて消えていったような、不思議な感じです。
後は自分の感覚が残るだけ

私は航空機といったら旅客機にしか乗ったことがありませんが
頭の中に戦闘機に乗って、風の音やエンジン、太陽の光を感じる

そんな鮮明なイメージが難なく自然と湧いてきました。とても読みやすい文章です。
淡々としている中にリズムがあって、違和感無くスッと頭に入ってきます。
コックピットを独占して空を自由に飛びまわる主人公が本当に気持ち良さそうです。

そして、あまりに主人公達が率直だからか、その感覚を少し知ってしまって勝手に戸惑ってしまいました。

うまく言えませんが個人的に、一言で表すなら「透明」です。
透明の余り、戸惑います。これは自分が不純物混ざりまくりの色の持ち主だからか？
何だかよく解りませんが切ない気がします

表紙を見るとわかると思いますが、詩的です。綺麗な空
これはもう表紙から感じ取っていただくのが一番かと！

あと「スカイ・クロラ」とリンクしている所がありますね。
「スカイ・クロラ」を気に入られた方なら今作も間違いないかと思われます。

死という一般には重い話題をすっきり書いてしまうあたりが新鮮でした。
推理小説のようなドロドロしたねちっこさもなく、浮遊感に似た心地よい感覚を得られる本です。

森博嗣の短編には似たような雰囲気のものがあったように思います。
