　本当に、指の訓練だけの、単調で面白みの無い練習本です（すみません。何かボロクソですね・・・）。

　子供のときにピアノを習っていたときには、これが嫌で嫌でたまりませんでした。私は、はっきり言って、これが嫌でピアノを辞めたようなものです（＾＾；）。

　最近また、縁あってアメリカ人のジュリアード卒業の先生のところでピアノをはじめました。先生にこの本についての疑問をぶつけてみました。

「指の力が弱い人には良いが、もともと力の強い人（成人男性など）には不向き。日本人や韓国人は、皆決まりのようにフォルテシモでハノンを練習しているので、小さな音で上手く弾くことができず、微妙な力加減の必要な、繊細な曲が弾けない。また、あまりにも単調なので、子供はすぐにハノンは嫌になってしまう。全員がするものでもないし、使うなら全訳でなく、簡易版が良いだろう。」
　とのことでした。

　また、私の子供が習っている日本人のピアノの先生も、ハノンは使っておらず、バーナムです。聞いてみたところ、

「バイエル上巻やハノンのような退屈な教材は、子供は弾く喜びを感じられず、苦痛なだけ。殆どの子供はピアノは情操教育目的なので、勉強や塾が大変になるころ・・・ブルグミュラーかソナチネくらいでピアノを辞めてしまう。
　そういう現実を考えると、まずピアノを、音楽を、好きになってもらうことのほうが大切。

　技術的に行詰まり、どうしてもハノンをさせた方が良いという場合は（そんなことはあまり無いそうですが）、そのときに生徒も納得の上ではじめればいい。」
とのことでした。なお、子供はピアノをはじめて２年で、バイエル終了段階ですが、バーナムは楽しんでしています。左手小指も良く動きます。

　「ハノンを自らしたい」という大人はよいと思いますが、絶対にというものでもないようですし、もしもこれが嫌で、お子さんがピアノを練習したがらないようでしたら、ピアノを習う目的と、使用教材について、先生と相談なさった方が良いかもしれません。

この練習曲集は指の強化練習（特に小指、薬指）、１２音階の練習、オクターブ、トリルの練習などピアノを弾く上で絶対に欠かせない練習が出来る本です。面白みがないことも事実ですが、これを練習した後だと指まわりがひじょ~に良くなり、難曲でもすらすらと弾けてしまう事も珍しくありません。ピアノが早くうまくなりたかったら、この本は必須でしょう。

ピアノのレッスンで何くそーっと思って
ハノンでリズム練習をした記憶があります。

でも、いろんな曲にチャレンジするにつれ
ハノンで単調でつらかった練習が
こんなに役立つものかと思い知らされました。
