確かに「本家：北斗の拳」と重複する部分が多い内容になっていますが、心理描写や
表情などは、より細かくなっており、ラオウとトキ、実の兄弟ならではの因縁などが
かなり分かりやすく、なおかつ深いものとなっているように思います。
（画も手抜き感が無く、全体的にクオリティが高いです）

ラストシーンは、よくある安直なハッピーエンドとも取れますが、全６巻を通しタイトルどおり
「聖者」であり続けたトキへの御褒美のようでもあり、最終的な死まで描くことなく、
余命僅かな者が、最後の心の拠所に辿り着いたようで、これで良かったように感じました。

仮に「死の場面」を描いたとしても、原作どおり「リュウガを抱えた状態」ではなく、
トキを慕う人々に囲まれ、ゆっくりと静かに、そして満足げな笑みを浮かべつつ眼を閉じていくといった、
そんなシーンで、この物語全体の流れからして、悲惨なラストにはならなかったと思います。

最終巻なのに一番面白くないです。なぜなら本来外伝は五巻で終わらせるはずなのが、話のまとめ方からなのか六巻まで引き伸ばされました。したがってやや惰性的に引き伸ばされた話は原作そのままの展開になってオリジナル要素がほぼ皆無となっております。個人的には最後のリュウガとの対峙の際、リュウガの本音を聞き出したエピソード、トキの死などがどういった描写になったのかが興味の対象でしたが、最後はその期待を裏切った感があります。特に外伝の中では原作に一番リンクしていて、痒いところに手が届く展開は魅力的でした。全体の印象としては〇ですが最後がハッピーエンド過ぎました。

最終巻です。
内容のほとんどが、オリジナルと被っています。
ですから、話の先が分かってしまいます。
外伝なのであれば、本編になかったエピソードをもっと盛り込んで頂きたかった。
ましてや最終巻なのであればなおさらな感じがしました。
ラオウとの戦いあの後、残る余生をどう過ごしたのか、そこを掘り下げて欲しかったです。
