　オリンピックのボイコットや力士の引退問題、涼子たちの北海道旅行など、はじまりはホテルかもしれないけれど、事件はホテルからどんどん飛び出して行ってしまいます。でも、登場人物たちの持つコンシェルジュとしての心構えが、常に誰かをとらえてしまうのは、どこでも変わりありません。

　涼子たちが成長してきたことにより、物語のパターンが大きく2つに分かれて来た様に思う。ひとつは、当初と同様に最上の様なベテランによる深みのあるサービスの物語。もう一つは、涼子たち若手コンシェルジュによる、世にはびこるサービスとは呼べないサービスに苦言を呈する物語。それぞれに特徴を持った若手を主役に据えることが可能なので、物語に幅を持たせやすくなった様に感じる。一方で、ホテル内だけで物語を作り出し続けるのはかなり難しいのかなとも思う。結局、ホテルというのは旅先における拠点にすぎないのだから、事件は拠点から飛び出した先で起きるものなのだろう。
　また、朝霧花織の登場により、涼子の目指すところが明確になったことも、物語に芯を通す結果となっている気がする。これまでは最上を目指すといいつつも、どこかかなわないと思っていた所があるだろう。しかし、女性という立場から飛び抜けたサービスを提供できるという事実が、涼子に明確な目標を与え、生き生きと活動できるようになっていると思う。
