このままじゃいけない。個人も国も世界も。
生きづらいこんな時代、自由に物がいえるようでいえない時代にあえて、
さださんは穏やかな物腰の中にある熱い魂を精一杯伝えようとしてます。
カナリヤと自らを称されてますが、カナリヤは皆、つまり私もあなたも
同じカナリヤです。
人が生きづらい、自由に（履き違えじゃなく）物が言えない時代。
明日が嫌な時代にならないための地図。
最近、人の命について個人的な事情で考える日々の私にとっては、家族につい
て書かれた部分がじわっときました。
「案山子」がすきな方は必読です。
自分と周りの人たちが生きやすいように世界がなってくれと願う全ての方に。
どうか読んでください。

さだ氏の歌にはメッセージ性の強いものがあるが、
それでも彼の思いからすれば、はるかに穏やかなのだ。
本書を読んで思ったのはそういうことである。
８月６日に毎年行ってきた野外コンサートでの決まり文句、
「あなたの大切な人の笑顔を守るために、あなたにできることを考えてください」
の裏にたくさんの思いがあることもわかった。

この国はこのままではいけない、
という気持ちが彼に本書を書かせた動機であろう。
日本への愛と憤りが次世代に向けたメッセージの中にあるようだ。
その考えは極めてまともであり、
右とか左などという枠は無意味に思える。
もちろん彼とて７０年安保を経験した世代であるから、
その世代独特の視点を感じるが、瑣末なことだ。

指摘される様々な問題の根幹はやはり教育に
行き着くと思う。
その根本的な対策まで示されるわけではないけれども
それは読者が自分で考えることだろう。

日本を、人をこよなく愛するさだまさしらしいメッセージがいっぱい詰まった、まさにメッセージブック。
さだまさしが常にステージで語り続けてきた、「生命」「家族」「子育て」「教育」「情」「コミュニケーション」「義の崩壊」「平和」「時間」…。
今、私たちにとって見つめ直さねばならない課題について、実に分かりやすくそしてストレートに、それでいて押しつけがましくなく綴られていて、とても読みやすい。
未来の子どもたちが豊かに生き得る環境へとつなげていくために、私たちがどう考え、生きねばならないかをこの本を契機に考え合えたら素晴らしい。
一人でも多くの方が、この書に触れてくださる事を切に願っています。
