図書館で借りて気に入ったので購入しました。
安藤氏の目から見たコルビュジエの作品に対する感動が素直に伝わってきます。
コルビュジエに関する本はたくさん読みましたが、
これほど愛情溢れる本は他にありませんでした。
安藤氏の作品のルーツを垣間見たような気がします。
個々の作品や建築についての写真は解説はそれほど詳細ではないので、
詳しく知りたい方は他の本を読んだほうが良いかもしれません。
でも、写真はとても印象的で美しく、私は好きです。
安藤氏の文章も、読んだ後温かい気持ちにさせてくれます。
コルビュジエ、そして安藤忠雄の入門書としてお勧めします。

１冊で２人の建築家がわかってしまう、お得本。
建築の本としては価格も安めだと思います。
ただ、深みがないというか読み終わったあとに
建築の本独特の読んだ~っていう達成感はないかも。
価格が安いから、読んでみたいって思っている人は
チャレンジしてほしい。

安藤忠雄やル・コルビュジエに興味を持った人が初めに手にとって読む本としては良書でしょう。昨今の都市計画や集合住宅に大きな影響を及ぼしている安藤忠雄、彼が学生時代にほれ込み、作品にも大きな影響を受けたのがル・コルビュジエなのです。その安藤が、ル・コルビュジエの若き日から晩年までを作品を通して追いかけ、解説をしています。マンションの構造や鉄筋コンクリートを使用した建築のひとつの流れを知りたい人にとってはサマリーのような本になるはずです。
逆に、建築や造形美術の深いところを期待している人が読む本ではないと思います。
