多くのワイン本って、堅苦しい解説であったり、独りよがりの自慢話であったり、何より読み物としては断片的な解説でツマラナイものが多かったですね。
しかし、このジャンシス ロビンソンさんの本は、活き活きとした「潤いに満ちた」ワインガイドで、私達にワインを楽しむための道案内をしてくれます。

特に、私のような超初心者にとっても、これまで難解であったワインを楽しむための様々な知識が「包括的」かつ「系統的」に、非常に分かりやすく紹介されており、1冊読み終えた時には、ソムリエにでもなれるような気分にさえさせてくれました。

読んでいる最中、マスターオブワインでありワインをこよなく愛するジャンシスさんと一緒に、世界中のワインを飲んでいる気分にさせてくれる「美味し~い本」でした。

どんなことを学ぶのも、取っ掛かりで失敗すると挫折してしまいますよね。特にワインのように、別格の愛好家がたくさん居ると、自分が美味しいと思うのが間違い？とか、何でこんなに高いのにまずく感じるのの？？と迷う入門書にしか出会わなかったのですが・・。

この本の通りにワインを知り始めたら、「ソムリエの言っている言葉」や「愛好家さんのご自慢」に振り回されないだけじゃなく、わずか8ヶ月でインターネットのワイン選びに失敗がなくなってきたんです！もっと知りたい、軌道修正したい、などなど目的は何でもOK。パーティでも、数人や事によったら一人でもワインを楽しむ方法がわかります。

スグレモノの入門書ですぞ。

ワインに興味を持ち、あれこれと飲み始めるようになったら最初に読むべき教科書がこれです。楽しい語り口ですっきり整理された解説を読み、実践編をできるだけ忠実に試していけば、読み終わる頃には立派なワイン愛好家。そこらの蘊蓄好きのワインオタクや酒屋の主人に幻惑されることもなくなるでしょう。その後で同じ著者の「世界一ブリリアントなワイン講座」と堀賢一の「ワインの自由」を読み、「ポケットワインブック」最新版を備えておけば他のワイン入門書などを読む必要はまったくないと思います。
