長崎屋の若だんな一太郎が活躍する妖怪時代小説の第七弾です。

巻を重ねるごとに重厚さを増していく「しゃばけ」ワールド。今回も多くの妖に囲まれて、一太郎が奮闘していきます。

巻を重ねてきて世界観も大分安定してきましたが、マンネリを感じさせない作者の筆力はすごいです。どこか憎めない妖たちには終始頬がゆるみっぱなしですし、妖が主役でありながらも、人物の心情描写にも手を抜いていないところは作者の力量を感じさせます。

今作も5編全てがとても面白かったのですが、菓子作りの修行のため奉公に出た栄吉の悩みを描いた「餡子は甘いか」、お雛さんと一色屋のその後を描いた「ひなのちよがみ」、そして長崎屋縁の妖たちがオールキャストで奮闘する表題「いっちばん」が特におすすめです。

ドラマ第二弾も決定しているという目が離せないシリーズ。今後の展開に期待です。

しゃばけシリーズ第７弾。＊今回も病弱な若旦那と妖達、そして若旦那の友人達との賑やかで楽しいお話が盛りだくさんでした。＊若旦那を誰が一番喜ばす事が出来るのか妖達の競い合いに巧く江戸流行りのスリのお話が絡み合う表題作『いっちばん』。＊回船問屋長崎屋と近江商人とその分家の品物の競い合いが描かれた『いっぷく』。＊気が付くと天狗に攫われてしまった若旦那。天狗にはとある事情があるのだが…。そこからドタバタと物語が進む『天狗の使い魔』。＊若旦那の友人で和菓子職人の栄吉のちょっと切なくほろ苦いお話『餡子は甘いか』。＊厚化粧のお雛さんとその許嫁の絆を描く『ひなのちよがみ』。＊時には、若旦那が自分自身の不甲斐なさを苦やしみつつも前向きなその姿が、とっても好感が持てた。そして、その影には妖達の姿が欠かせない。妖達と若旦那、そしてその友人達の織りなすお江戸の物語の次回作が楽しみだ。

3.0 out of 5 stars どんどん広がる「しゃばけ」ワールド。シリーズの持つ安心感は健在。, 2008/8/7
お約束の「病弱若だんな」＋「甘やかす兄やたち」＋「バラエティ豊かな妖たち」という基本線は変わらないけれど、幼馴染みや兄がそばを離れていく、など若だんなを取り巻く環境は少しずつ変わってきている。それでも、「しゃばけ」ワールドは様々な登場人物を巻き込んでますます広がってゆく。どちらかというと、「江戸人情もの」というテイストが強くなってきてはいるけど、不思議でほんわかとした妖の世界は健在。欲を言えば、若だんな、兄やたちといった中心人物の活躍がやや少ない感じはするけど、安心して読めるし、読んだ後幸せな気持ちにさせてくれる。
