4.0 out of 5 stars 連作の形が切なさを増す, 2007/6/29
五感に訴える感覚的な描写は見事の一言です。静かな愛も、激しいラブシーンも、どちらもとても切なく描かれていて、胸に迫りました。一つ一つの作品の登場人物達がスピンオフして、他の作品にからんでいく形も連作小説として、うまく構成されていると思いました。他の作品で語られなかった部分が、別の作品で描かれていくので、作品と作品がからむことにより、切なさも、倍増していくます。ただ、ラストの「あなたへと続く道」は、連作小説として、まとめようとしすぎているのではないでしょうか。偶然的要素に思いっきり頼りすぎていて、少し残念に思いました。ということで、★がマイナス一個です。

人を愛することの切なさ、苦しさ、愛おしさが胸に痛いほど響く本です。
今、まさに忘れられない人がいる人に読んでほしい。
私も心に秘めてずっと忘れられない人がいます。
忘れたほうがいいのか、でも忘れられない、と悩んでいる人はこの本の登場人物に
感情移入できると思います。
心が痛くなるくらいの愛する気持ち、味わってみてください。

この小説には、
いくつもの歌に込めて主人公たちの気持ちがつづられています。
そのなかには出てこないのですが、
私は、竹内まりやの「駅」という歌を思い出しました。

この歌は、
「駅で、見覚えのあるレインコートの男性を見かけた」
という一節からはじまります。
そして、その一瞬の出来事に呼び覚まされた「感情」が、
いかに自分の心に残って離れないか、
ということが歌われています。

別れた人に似た人を見かけて、
「はっ」とするのは誰にでもあることだと思いますが、
それを歌詞にしたところに、
この歌が多くの人に歌われている理由の一つがあると思います。

この『好き、だからこそ』も、
「駅」と同じように、
おそらく誰にでも思い当たる「感情」を、
丹念に描いています。

冒頭、
電車のなかで主人公が、
乗っているはずのない人のことを
捜してしまうシーンなどは、
まさにそれに当たるでしょう。

ほれたはれた、もいいけれど、
感情の深いところで、
自分にも他人にも、
「忘れられない人がいる」、
ということを認めてあげるのもいいもんだと
思いました。
