私には本当の友達がいない。この本を読み思い知らされた。
“友達”というものもよく分かってなかった。読み終わった後たった鳥肌は多分ずっと忘れない。

その場しのぎ。私を象徴する言葉。この本だったら堀田ちゃんに近いかも。
そんなんじゃ、いけないって分かっていても、なかなか直せない。癖、なのかも。
でも、そんな私にも、この本はヒントをくれた。友達って何。考える機会をくれた。

だから私なりに頑張ってみよう。恵美ちゃんに、「あんたらしいね。そーゆーのもいいんじゃない？」
って言ってもらえるような友達関係を作ってみたい。

小説とはいえ、僕にも現実に心あたりがある。
とともに共感する部分も。
「友達」。
これを読むと、この言葉の意味を考える事を、重苦しく感じなくなった。
友達とはなんなのか？
今まで僕は若者ながら、様々な境遇に身をおいてきた。
それは、まさにこの本のような生き方をしていた。
悩みが解決されたような爽快感を持った。
何かと人間関係で悩む僕を、元気づけ、今後の僕の在り方に影響を及ぼした一冊だ。

この作品で描かれたいくつもの友情はとても綺麗ですごくうらやましかった。
いつまでも友達でいることって難しいと思う、みんな環境が変われば性格が変わるし、いつまでもあの頃のみんなは存在しない。
でも遠く離れても、たとえ死んでしまっても自分のことを友だちって呼んでくれる人がいたら嬉しいと思う。
友達の大切さを再確認できた作品だった。
