河合 隼雄
1928年兵庫県生まれ。臨床心理学者、京都大学教育学博士。京大理学部卒業後アメリカ留学をへて、スイスのユング研究所で日本人として初めてユング派分析家の資格を取得、ユング分析心理学の理解と実践に貢献する。国際日本文化研究センター所長、文化庁長官などを歴任。著訳書多数。五十歳をすぎて始めたフルートはコンサートを開く腕前、冗談好きで「日本のウソツキクラブ」会長を自称するなど、幅広く活躍した。2007年7月逝去

岡田 知子
1965年富山県生まれ。広告制作会社にグラフィックデザイナーとして勤務後、イラストレーターとして独立。透明水彩や鉛筆を用いて、主に出版・広告方面で活動中(本データはこの書籍が刊行された当時に掲載されていたものです)

沢山の兄弟、泣き虫の自分、子供心に楽しい･面白い･悲しい･寂しい･恥ずかしい･腹立たしい。
色んな感情が渦巻く感受性豊かな子ども時代を、「ハァちゃん」という分身でもって回想する本。「こどもの宇宙」や童話の世界を大事にしていた河合隼雄先生の、ほのぼのした日常が穏やかな眼差しで描かれている。

先生が亡くなられ、話は途中で終わっているものの、尻切れとんぼという感じではなく、ちょうどいい所で終わっている絶妙な終わり方。ふと、また続きが始まるような、何気ない別れ方、終わり方も、いかにも先生らしいような気がする。

挿絵も涙が滲んだような、ちょっとはにかんだような水彩で淡々と描かれているのが、何ともいえない雰囲気。坊主頭の少年の笑顔が、晩年の先生の笑顔と重なって見える人も多いだろう。子供の世界、遊びの中に心の世界を求めた河合隼雄の原点を、垣間見たい人にお勧め。

去年７月に亡くなられた臨床心理学者の河合隼雄先生の遺作。
『家庭画報』２００６年２月号〜２００７年１月号に連載。執筆半ばにして天に召されました。

主人公は、６人の、男ばかりの兄弟の５番目である城山隼雄（ハァちゃん）。
時代は戦時中、故郷である丹波篠山を舞台に、幼稚園から小学校４年生までの物語です。

子どもが生まれてから、先生の著作を沢山読ませていただきました。
子どもに対しての先生の目線は、このような生活の中で育まれてきたのだと、この本を読んで感じました。
優しい色調の挿絵と相まって、家族っていいなあとしみじみ思わせてくれます。
もっともっと続きを読みたかった・・・

巻末の谷川俊太郎さんの詩は、きっと先生を慕う全ての人々の想いだと確信します。

このような本は評価とか星とかそういうものになじまないのである。
河合先生との個人的な思い出を大事にしている方は、やっぱり持っておかれて
損はないと思う。
巻末の谷川さんの詩は絶唱である。もう現代詩とか言語の芸術とかそういうものではなくて
西條八十の歌謡のような世界である。
ああ、誰か故郷を想はざる・・・・・・。
