帯に書かれているように「輪が思いのさすらうままの島旅話である」なのです。とにかくグビーっとか、スカーっとか、なんかそんな気分にさせてくれるお話と写真なんですが、これらは「シンラ」「コーラルウェイ」で紹介されていたものを一冊に纏め上げたものです。それにしても思うはシーナサンのように生きるにはどうしたらよいか？と思ってしまうのですが、その反面 ・島々における局面局面のシーナサンの行動は非常にあこがれるのですが、その行動が連続したお仕事であることを忘れている ・シーナサン領域までたどりつかなくても島民の域まで・・・と考えたりするのですが、それも現地の方々の厳しい生活を実際には知らない

というところから、本書を読んでスカーっとしておわっている状況に自分はなっているのだろうと分析しています。

写真はタルケンこと垂水健吾さんがとられたと言う事で、実は池澤夏樹さんの「クジラが見る夢」もとられていたということを知って、思わずファンになりそう。というのもとにかく写真から ・青空は青い

・海は広いし青い（本書では赤いというか茶色というかそういう海も出てきましたが） ・人の素朴さがにじみ出る というなんかオーラみたいものを感じてしまうのです。

ビールをグビグビっと飲んで、外でお昼をたべて、三角ベースボールをして、なんかいかにもうらやましい~っと思わせるとともに、少しだけ島々の生活の中身を見せていただき、すっかり北は天売島から南は水納島まで体験させていただいたというお得な一冊でした。

私は離島好きなのですが、、、
興味のある島が満載だったのでとても良かったです。
自然を満喫する様子はもちろんのこと、
島に住んでる人の様子なども伝わってきて。
写真で美しい海も楽しめます。
続編が楽しみです！

椎名さんの旅行記は、そりゃもちろん椎名さんだからできるのであって自分ではできな
いんですが、それでも「ああ、いいなぁ」と思えるこの感覚が気持ちいいです。
「離島」の、ただそこの空気だけが伝わってくる、そんな本です。
