「のぼうの城」の和田竜の新作。

伊勢を治める織田信雄が、伊勢の「忍びの国」に攻め込む物語です。

伊賀の十二家評定衆は、伊賀の武名を上げるため術策を施して、伊勢の信雄に攻めさせようとします。
この仲間をも欺く術策が、伊勢、伊賀の両国に人々の運命を変えて行きます。

この本は、史実に基づいているのでしょうが、エンターテイメントに徹底した人物の性格設定やシーンの描き方で、非常にヴィジュアル感があります。
それだけに非常に楽しく読むことが出来、前作よりもいいかも知れません。

和田龍氏のデビュー作「のぼうの城」が痛快であれば，本作は壮絶という表現になるのか，忍びの世界の残忍さ，非道さ，生々しさがリアルに伝わる．「伊乱記」に記される伊賀忍者軍団と織田信雄（織田信長の次男，養子に出て北畠信雄）の大戦における伊賀忍者の株を上げた伊賀の勝利を描いている．本書がおもしろい理由は，結構一般的には知られていない史事だからでは無かろうか？個人的には前作より今回の作品の方がおもしろかったように思う．読む視点としては歴史小説をとことん楽しむと言うことにつきる．

主人公の伊賀忍者/ 無門は金のためなら人を殺すことを何とも思わない伊賀忍者の典型像，それでいて尻に引かれる女房のお国には頭が全く上がらない．人間味のない人間の矛盾する一面と，ついには伊賀忍者に対する非道さを自身の不幸から初めて認識するストーリーは読みごたえがある．「次はどうなる，次は．．．」と読み進むとあっという間に読み終えてしまうくらい，内容は壮絶且つ非常におもしろい！　映画に成るときっと見に行くだろうなという話の流れは，最後の最後もで息を抜けないので，そのリアル観を是非この一冊で体験して頂きたく思います．

　一時、忍者小説にはまって、司馬遼太郎や池波正太郎などの忍者小説を読み漁りました。最近はそういった歴史忍者小説は少なかった気がします。
　この「忍びの国」は、久しぶりの本格歴史忍者小説だと感じました。プロットも面白いし、出てくる人物も魅力的です。
　中盤もたつく感じがしましたが、クライマックスの戦闘シーンはスピード感もあり、とっても引き込まれました。
　今後の作品も楽しみです。
