高山正之が激しい怒りをユーモアに包んで、政府、メディア、官僚を切りまくる。
なるほどそうだったのかと思うことも多々あり、最後まで飽きさせない。

著者は、新聞記者時代にイラン・イラク戦争を戦場で取材した際に
本社に防弾チョッキを送るよう依頼したところ、通産省（当時）が
防弾チョッキは武器に当たり、武器輸出三原則に反するから送れないと
許可しなかったとのこと。

こんな現場感覚（？）から生まれた批判精神はすさまじい。
変見自在の怖いものなしであるのも当然かもしれない。

なお、表題の「ジョージ・ブッシュが日本を救った」は
クリントン政権時代に猛烈に吹き荒れた対日企業訴訟の嵐がブッシュ政権になって
パッタリとなくなったとの意味。これにもなるほどだ。

　思えば、アメリカの占領軍、ＧＨＱの意向に最も忠実だったのが朝日新聞と大学の先生だった。また、日本人は「権威」を疑わず、「長いものに巻かれ」るのが好きな国民だ。だから権力者には扱いやすく、こうして世界でも稀に見る「働き蜂」の国が出来た。インターネットの時代になると、テレビや新聞のいうことをみんな疑っている。だから「地球温暖化の問題」など、ＮＨＫや朝日新聞が執拗に宣伝しても、なかなか浸透しない（ネットを扱えない高齢者を除いて）。いくらお人好しの日本人でも、いつまでもマスコミに踊らされて、従っていくほど、アホでないと思う。朝日新聞も、これから「社民党」のように、国民の支持を失って弱体化する前に、大きく軌道を修正すべき時代になったのではないか。
