ちょっといまさらかな・・と思いつつ、
今年一番の出来事は今年の内に、と思って読んでみた。

本書は圧倒的な人気を元に安部政権が成立してから、
ガラガラと転落していく過程を、著者の取材を元にまとめたものだ。

安部政権が迷走した理由。
安部首相本人の優柔不断、無能な側近、叩いたら
いっぱい埃がでてくる閣僚・・、そして小泉元首相の負の遺産。

これを読めばどうしてここまで安部政権がダメだったか、
よく理解することができる。色々なエピソードや関係者の
発言も交えているので、読みやすい。

ただ、少しだけ気になるところが。

著者は安部首相辞任時の「麻生謀略説」を流したという話もある。
（麻生謀略説について当事者は明確に否定し、謀略自体に疑惑がある）
”自分の手柄”を強調したがるのは首席秘書官もジャーナリストも同じだろう。
また、本書でよく名前が出てくる井上秘書官について相当こき下ろし
ているのも気になる。最後の方には悪意を感じた。
まぁ事実だったら仕方ないが・・。

そう考えると、本書の内容を全部鵜呑みにしない方がいいかと。

本の内容自体は読みやすく、政治のウラがわかっておもしろいので
興味のある方は読んで損はないと思う。

タイトルが全てを表している。安倍政権が“なにをしたか”ということにはまったくといっていい程触れていない。書かれているのは“なぜ駄目だった”のかということばかりだ。

著者はその原因を、所謂「チーム安倍」と呼ばれる側近達の無能力や暴走にあるとし、安倍氏の総裁としての資質自体についてはあまり言及していない。そればかりか、彼らに足を引っ張られた安部氏に対する同情が感じられるような文章も見受けられた。

こういう内幕ものの真相は結局のところ当事者にしかわからない。だから、著者が書いていることが真実かどうかはわからないので単なる印象になってしまうのだが、わたしはこの本に登場する「チーム安倍」を構成するメンバー、例えば塩崎氏・世耕氏などの姿がテレビ画面に映し出されていたときに、彼らの話し方や立居振る舞いから、“ひ弱さ”や“小物感”といった雰囲気を感じ、これが政権中枢にいるべき人物なのだろうかという疑問を持っていたので、著者が書いていることは核心を突いているのではないだろうかと思えた。

ただ、全てが著者のいうとおりだとも思えない。この本でもっともその能力を否定されているのは、秘書官の井上氏なのだが、彼に対する著者の筆致は個人的になにか恨みでもあるのか？と思えるほど感情的で攻撃的だ。

また、著者の職業を考えるともっともな視点だと思えないでもないが、チーム安倍が講じたメディア対策への否定の仕方が、メディア（報道する側）からの視点に偏っていて、受け取る側（視聴者、有権者）の視点が殆んど考慮されていないことだ。読んでいて何度も“メディアはそんなに立派で偉いのか？、”“メディアの視点が全て正しいのか？“という思いが何度も頭をよぎった。

興味深い一冊ではあったが疑問符も残る一冊でもあった。

内容は面白く、取材もよくしています。
しかし、全体の流れから官邸を見るというよりも、側近の人物の欠点を掲げることだけで筆を進める書き方には疑問もあります。
面白い本ではありますが、表層的すぎるとも感じました。
