ＳＦギャグ小説と言えるくらい面白い（笑いも含めた意味の）小説です。
でも時に哲学的であったり、読み手によって色々な深い意味にもとれますが
それさえも作者に「読者は勝手に難しく考える」と皮肉られそうな感じがします。
顔が２つある大統領が普通に登場したり、ドアを開けるだけの任務に

至上の喜びを感じるロボットが登場したり、想像力がフル回転します。

~　イギリスBBCのラジオドラマからのノベライズ。
　イギリスのウィットに富んだ、しかしナンセンスなコメディを楽しむには最適の一冊。
　１ページに必ずジョークが入り、目まぐるしい展開で深刻な問題を一笑にふす。
　モンティパイソンのライターでもあったので、その手のギャグが好きな人にお勧め
　2003年10月現在、残念ながら絶版。

　既に絶版ながら、シリーズ化されており「宇宙の果てのレストラン」「銀河クリケット大戦争」が日本語訳されていた。
　"So Long,and Thanks for All the Fish"、"Mostly Harmless"とその後続いていたが、それらは訳されなかった。~
