ブローティガン,リチャード
1935年ワシントン州タコマ生まれ。’56年、ケルアック、ギンズバーグらビート・ジェネレーションの作家が集うサンフランシスコへ。だが彼らとは一線を画し、7年におよぶ長い詩作の時間をすごす。’60年代はじめ、初の小説『アメリカの鱒釣り』を執筆。’84年、ピストル自殺

5.0 out of 5 stars 注釈がおもしろい, 2007/2/11
海外文学は難しい。
作者との相性はもちろん、文化的フィルター、訳のフィルターがかかるからだ。
その点からすると、この本はまさに稀有な例と言っていい。
作者と訳者の相性がばつぐんに良いのである。

それは、後ろの注釈にも現れている。
普通、注釈は辞書のようなつまらなさだが、この本の場合は注釈だっておもしろい。
この「ユーモラスさ」が、ブローティガンの作風と実によく合っているのだと思う。

読むかどうかを迷っているのなら、注釈と「木を叩いて―その2」をぱらぱらとめくるのをおすすめする。
こうした、少し人を食ったようなユーモアが気に入るのなら、きっと楽しんで読めるだろう。

　"奇怪な満足感"を味わった、久々の本。背景に1960年代初頭のアメリカのカルチャーを濃厚に感じさせるコクのあるアンソロジー、といったところか。
　文字通り『アメリカの鱒釣り』を通じてみえる当時のアメリカのスナップをシニカルに、ときにはユーモアに、ときには自らを徹底的に蔑んで自嘲的にさらっと書き綴る文章は、"奇怪な満足感"としか言いようがない。
　故・開高健氏が絶賛しそうな名文だと思うが、本書について述べたものをみたことがないが…　ある!?

１９６０年代のアメリカのポップな文体が藤本和子の和訳によって日本でも花開いたように思えます。
絶望的な現実の中でもよりよいものを模索していこうとする当時のアメリカの若者の姿をまざまざと見せ付けてくれます。
