いわゆるアンマニアの方とは違い２〜３回読んだだけの素人です。
この作品は私のような理解度の低い者にも
（少なくともアニメをひと通り見た程度なら）わかるように書かれています。

以前原作を読んで疑問に思っていたのは、
アンはいつから、どうして過去を語らなくなったんだろう？
ということです。
明確な理由は語られていませんが、少なくとも
トラウマに打ちひしがれたわけではなさそうだな、と思えたのが救いです。
暗い過去をしっかり描写し、それでいて
恨み節におちいらないバランス感覚があります。
加えて、原作に出てきたあのエピソード、あのアイテムも
しっかり回収されています。（これこれ！とニヤッとしました）

さらに、ただストーリーのつじつまを合わせただけではなく
この作者ならではの特長があるとするならば
ここではアンが「しあわせになりたい」「子供らしくいたい」という意思を
特に主体的に示しているということです。

願わなければ叶わない。アンでなければだめだったんだ！
というポジティブな姿勢が再確認できる流れになっていると思います。

子供時代、赤毛のアン教の伝道師であった私が、この本を読まずにいられましょうか。

上下巻一気に読んだけど、子供時代の自分には読ませたくありませんでした。
赤毛のアンは、ＤＶとか、妊婦の鬱とかそういうのを知らなくてもいい世代の夢見る夢子たちのバイブルだったのではありませんか？

二次創作としては、うまくつなげたなあとは思いますが、ほらほら、ここにいれたわよ、あのエピソード、どうよっていう感じがどっと疲れました。

上下続けて読みましたが、感想としては「こんなのアンじゃね〜！」でした。
アンを愛してやまない人は絶対に読まないほうがいいと思うし、アンの物語に
目をキラキラと輝かせている子供にも読ませたくないと思いました。
モンゴメリさんもアン像の崩壊に嘆き悲しんでおられることと思います。
