多少世間知らずだが、やさしく思慮深くお金持ち（大店のお坊ちゃま）なのに謙虚・・・と人間的にすばらしい一太郎。
でも彼の一番の魅力は、“尋常ではないほど強烈な虚弱体質”（笑）にあると思われる。
いざ！というときに、ひ弱すぎてカッコよくきまらないから面白い。
どんなときも身を挺して守ってくれる手代２人（妖怪）があまりにも優秀すぎて、
食べ物から寝る時間、外出先まで四六時中見張られ、仕切られ、管理され続けながら
しぶとく事件を解決する姿が最高に可笑しい！

シリーズの軸となる第１作目の「しゃばけ」。
この１作のみ長編小説（２作目以降は短編）ですが、これが一番おもしろい！
推理小説としてもしっかり成り立っている充実した内容で、ぐいぐい引き込まれていきます。

情けないけど格好良く思える一太郎と、勧善懲悪(かんぜんちょうあく)的なストーリーへの安心感が
なんとも心地よくやめられない！　
登場人物全員の、どっか“欠けている”（完璧ではない）感じがたまらない魅力です。
ぜひぜひ読んでください！

　なんとなく手に取った一冊、少しずつ読み進めていたのですが、だんだん先が気になって一気に読んでしまいました。
とても面白かったです。
時代劇風な展開に、妖を絡めていると言う印象を受けました。
ひとつの事件から色々な展開が生まれるという感じでしょうか？
その展開の上手さと面白さに、先を読みたいと思わせる要素があるのだと思います。

　主人公の一太郎さんがとても素敵な人です。
体が弱くとても周りから可愛がられて育った人、その温かい心の影響からか優しい人です。
他の登場人物たちもとても個性豊かで、その人たちがとても一太郎さんを大切にしている気持ちが読んでいて心温まりました。
　激しさや、劇的な展開というよりは、穏やかな中に笑いがあり、謎があり、真実を!知る。

そんな優しさあふれる作品ではないかと思います。

皆様仰ってる通り、時代物でミステリーでファンタジー。
一言、読みやすいです。
文章はもちろん、ストーリーもわかりやすく、登場人物（？）たちの設定もはっきりと描き分けてるのが好印象。
彼らの姿かたちや、ワンシーン、ワンシーンを頭に描きやすいことなどを思うと、「漫画家出身」だという作者さんの背景になんとなく納得。
私の場合、物語を読むとき、作品世界に没頭できるまでは同じところを何度も読み返したり、読書ペースが一向に上がらないというのが常なのですが、この作品はすごく楽に読み進められました。

その一方で、「不思議さ」「滑稽さ」「人情味」を軸に軽快なテンポで話が展開していく中、深いことや大事なことをわりあいサラッと登場人物に言わせたりするので、なかなか侮れなかったりもします。
ということで、肩の力を抜いて読める小説をお探しの方に、☆４つでおすすめ。
