本書は「共依存」とよばれる人間関係の病理を明かした本である。「依存」というと自分は無縁だと思う人も多いだろうが、依存の対象は嗜好との関りから、何にでもなりうる。アルコール、ギャンブル、食物、等々。本書は、その中でもとりわけ深く家族に依存し、傷つけ合う人々の様子を詳らかにしている。家族に「依存」とは、本来当然のことであるはずが、そのあり方がいびつなため、相互に悲惨な関係に陥っていく。互いに必要としながらも、共にいれば傷つけ合う関係だ。それが発端となって、様々な身体的・精神的不調を発現し、時には暴力となって自他共に傷つける。うつ病が決して珍しくなくなった現在において、「なぜうつ病になるのか」という問に対するひとつの答えとして共依存が考えられることを示した本書の意義は決して小さくはない。うつ病で悩む人の表情の奥に見える強い怒りを感じたことのある人なら、本書の内容に得心するだろう。彼らは外に向けてもよい怒りの矛先を、自分自身に向けてきた人々なのである。本書は単に「父権」とか「ジェンダーフリー」などの、時には誤解さえ生みかねないシンボリックな考えだけでは捉え切れない家族関係の脆さや繊細さを見せつける一方で、家族を依存症から守るための条件もしっかり書かれていて大変参考になる。本書を契機に家族のあり方を真剣に考えてもいいのではないだろうか。尚、同著者による『アダルト・チルドレンと家族』も併読されれば、更に理解も深まるだろう。

引きこもりや非行など、子供が成長していく過程で
色々な問題に当たるわけだけど、
全てが家族と言う箱の中で、
父母子供の立場とそれぞれのかかわりの中で発生するんだなーってわかりました。
問題を起こす子供に原因があるのではなくて、
むしろ親のあり方に焦点を当てている。
でも親が悪いと言うのではなく、
両親がそれぞれの幸せを追求することで、
結果的に家族みんなが幸せになれると言うのに共感した。
今までに摂食障害や少年犯罪、うつ病などの本を読んだが、
斉藤氏の本は角度が違うぞぃ。

人間関係の病理、共依存(Co Dependency)。
アルコホリックだけでなく、食事依存（過食）仕事依存...
このような何かに対して「溺れる」のは
一定の人間関係パターン、それはいわゆる「共依存」がベース。
共依存は世代を経て代々伝播されてゆく。
人間関係のこの「パターン」は同じ環境でいる限り
どうしても家系図を作ると過去にあるもの。

わかっていても愛しすぎる人と愛されている必要のある人、
の関係が根底にあると依存症は依存症を生み出す結果になる。

それぞれの「依存」にある人だけでなく、
そういった人たちを救おうとしてがんばっているという人も
読んでみて欲しい、
そう斉藤学氏はおっしゃっておられます。

依存しあう人間関係とその回復に向けての1冊です。
