一見関係ない出来事がつながっていく。
ミステリによくある構造ですが、筋がきちんとしてないと
こじつけ感がでて白けるものですが、
これはそんなことはありません。

上質のエンターテインメントです。

入水自殺をはかった妊娠中の女性と、それに関わる精神科医、彼女に好意を持った男性、お腹の子の父親を中心に展開して行く。

女性の心を閉ざした物はいったい何なのか・・・。

いろいろな感情の交錯。生まれ持った運命を背負って生きることの辛さ。愛とは何なのか、多くを考えさせられる一冊であった。死を目前に、生きることへの執念を燃やすこと。何年も苦しみつづけ、愛する人と共に死にたいと願うこと。果たしてどちらが人間の本能なのだろうか？

　光射す。ように、絶望の奥にある希望という風に表現したのか。皮肉な運命。定められてしまったら逃げようのない。そういった絶望の表現が巧い。精神病というのをとりあげたのはそういう意図なのだろう。
　

　主人公というのが誰なのか分かりにくいが、望月かな。だがこの望月が雰囲気の上げ下げもしている。言うならば部分的に不要なところまで書いていて蛇足である。だが、砂子健史を出したところで望月の存在はがらっと変わった。精神病者を好きになったとき。自分でもどうか考えさせられた。

　うって変わって現実逃避して海に逃げた真木洋一。その真木洋一の海でのシーンの演出は秀逸だったように思う。鈴木光司は海が好きなのかよく作品にだしているが、心理描写に加えてその人の視点から見た!それぞれの海がある。それがリアルで、巧い。死にかける緊迫感、死を待つ絶望、死を逃れた希望。海と重ねた心理描写が自分は結構気に入っている。遠い海からだから改めて芽生える恋愛感情。どこにいても好きには変わらないというのには単純にいいなあって思う。
