賛否両論あるでしょうが、自分的にはかなり好きな小説です。
自分も高坂さんと同じように、
「こいつはホントに超能力者なのか?直也とどっちを信じればいいんだ?」
と、疑いながら、迷いながら読んでいきました。
その上に謎が重なり、気付くと物語がどのような終焉を迎えるのか気になって気になって、一気に読んでしまいました。
けしてハッピーエンドではないのですが、すごくいい話でした。

二人の少年（青年）に振り回されている高坂さんの迷いや戸惑い、
サイキックとしての苦悩など、とてもリアルでした。

時代劇ものも素晴らしいですが、この人の書く『少年』の
描写は特筆すべきものがあると思います。
自分の能力に苦悩しながら、生きていく少年と青年2人の
苦しみを『大人の』目線で見る男性の対比。
大好きな作品のひとつです。

主人公・慎司のサイキックであることのつらさ、切なさはそのままクロスファイアの主人公につながります。
自分のもつ独特な力の意味を、そして自分の存在意義を必死で追求していくんですよね。
切ないです。

私はサイドネタですが、高坂と七恵の恋のお話が好きです。
巡り会うべくして出会った二人。人の心の痛みがわかる優しい人たちですよね。

幸せになって欲しいです。
