　主に民間航空機が大好きで、この手の本は、すぐに買ってしまいます。今回も、題名と本の厚さに引かれてすぐに購入しました。ページ数はかなりありますが、ページの5分の１は注釈になっており、すぐで読めてしまいます。内容は、大変詳細に書かれています。若干、著者はボーイングファンであることを感じますが、文庫本というよりも、航空機事典といった感じで、ファンには読み応えのある一冊です。

著者自身がそう書いていますが、まさに「旅客機の雑学事典」と言った感じで、この情報量でこの価格はおトクだと思います。この種の本では文庫化された時点で、すでにデータが古くなってしまっているものも多いですが、初出の1995年以来、版を重ねるごとにデータは更新されており、文庫化時（2001年）のデータに加筆修正されています。惜しむらくは、注釈はほとんど適切に付けられていますが、ほんの一部の専門用語に注釈が無い部分があり、そこについては自力で調べなければならない事と、木村秀政氏（航空界の権威の一人）を持ち上げ過ぎ、といったところでしょうか。しかし、旅客機に興味を持った人には十分楽しめる内容である事は間違いないでしょう。

とてもわかりやすい内容です。航空関連のあらゆることが書かれています。
ライト兄弟の飛行機からハイテク技術のエアバス、またコンコルドなどのことも書いてありますし、航空機の機構（system)や乗客に対するサービス関連まで幅広く書かれている本です。
かなりオススメです。
