鷺沢 萠
1968(昭和43)年、東京生れ。上智大学外国語学部ロシア語科除籍。’87年、18歳の時に「川べりの道」を執筆し、文學界新人賞を受賞。「葉桜の日」などで芥川賞候補に、「ほんとうの夏」などで三島賞候補に挙げられ、’92(平成4)年『駆ける少年』で泉鏡花文学賞を受賞。2004年4月、死去(本データはこの書籍が刊行された当時に掲載されていたものです)

同じテーマ（おかえりと言ってくれる、家族のかたちのあり方）で書かれた二編。

血の繋がりが家族をつくるんじゃない。自分の居場所がある、必要としてもらえる、大事に思ってもらえる、おかえりと迎えてもらえる、そんな関係のあるところ、それが家族。
つまりそれは、「親」だから「子ども」だから「夫婦」だから、自動的に「家族」になれる、ということではなく、「家族」というものは自ら求め、つくっていかなければ手に入らない、という厳しい側面も持ち合わせていると思う。

二人の主人公はどちらも、苦労して、回り道をして、「家族」を手に入れる。それは彼らが人生を大事に生きた結果だ。彼らが自分の手でつくりあげた「家族」は優しく、あたたかく、心地よい。人と人との確かな結びつきがそこある。ちょっときれいすぎだろ、って気がしないこともないが。

文章。台詞のかけあいや表現が、テンポよくくだけてるんだけど、わざとらしいというか、どうも古臭く感じてしまう。私だけかもしんないけど。

両親がいて、子供がいて、お父さんが外で働いて、お母さんがおうちを守って、子供たちは学校で勉強をする。
そういう形ではない家を描いた小説です。
出てくる人たちは、たまにゆがんだりもするけど、基本的にまっすぐです。
一緒に暮らす人たちを懸命に愛します。
そして、かなわんなぁと思うことが多い日々の中で、「むくわれた」と思える大きなプレゼントをもらいます。
その瞬間に接したとき、読む人たちも自己を肯定する時間をもてるような気がしました。

作者はとても優しい人だなと読んですぐに感じました。
そして、その優しさはなかなかこの世では「むくわれない」種類のものだなと感じました。
ご冥福をお祈りしています。

4.0 out of 5 stars とにかくおもしろくて読みやすいんだ, 2008/2/17
　どこがいいんだろうなあ。たのしくおもしろく読めたが、しかも！　二編所収のうち、後の作品「児島律子のウェルカム・ホーム」では、久しぶりに小説で涙を流してしまったが、初期作品のような異次元世界へ迷い込んだような錯覚は体験しなかった。
　読みなれてしまったからかな。それに、いちいち読むたびに異界体験を要求するのは虫がよすぎる、と自分でも思う。
　最初の作品「渡辺毅のウェルカム・ホーム」は、小学生松本憲弘の作文に二人のパパがいるということから物語は始まる。けっしてゲイでも、ゲイのような関係でもない。チョー多忙の松本英弘の妻が病死し、家事を見てくれる者を必要としていたところに、レストランをつぶした渡辺毅が転がり込んだ。それだけのことなので、極めて「健全」なのだ。
　物語の中では、こんな状況がフツーか、そうでないか悶えるところがあるが、それほどの異常事態ではないだろう。男どもの合宿生活とでも思えばいい。こんな程度のところで悩むのは、鷺沢文学の健全（！）なところであり、物足りないところでもある。軽い悩みを軽いノリでスイスイ、サーフィンしていく。ゆえに本作品はあっという間に読める。ひょっとして文字で書かれたマンガ？　マンガもレベルが高いから、それはそれでいいんだろうけれど。

　二編目の作品は、二度とも破綻して、結婚生活に運のない児島律子だが、夫の連れ子をトコトン真剣に育児したせいか、子どもと和解するシーンは泣けた。けれどどうもリアルじゃないのだ。自分の体験をかなり盛り込んだのでは？　と思えるほどの、ある意味リアルな描写なのだが、最後にいくと、早くオチをつけたいのか、動作の不自然な、浅い描写が出てくる。けれど、そこら辺で涙を流したんだから、いいかァ。
