割りと、正統派の文学から始まり哲学書・仏教・・多岐に渡り読んでいた。
ヒョンな事からたまたま町田作品を手にとる事か゜あり、読んだ。「くっすん大黒」だった。
最初、何これ？と訝ったが、読み進む内にすっかり不思議ワールドに迷いこんだ。まるで゜不思議の国のアリスみたいだ。

人生に悩み落ち込んでいる人には是非に薦めたい。(笑)お釈迦さまもソクラテスもぶっ飛ぶに違いない。彼が大阪人と知って納得。
大阪人特有の天性の吉本か？
本を片手に思わず笑いが噴出す。それから町田ワールドにドップリ。
「夫婦茶碗」より人間の屑が良い。

ハチメチャでいながら、実はその時その時を一生懸命生きている主人公か゜いとおしい。読後とても哀しかったよ・・・ただ、単に泣かせる作品は多い。
泣かせるより、笑わせる方が難しいよね。町田の作品は笑わせてあとジワーンと哀しみがくる。町田康ってメチャメチャ生真面目で、正統派の人間なんじゃないの？それを恥じと思ってるところある感じ。

とにかく、無条件ではまった。オモロイ！町田最高！

2編が収録されているのですが、現代日本文学でこういったものが登場するとは思いもしませんでした。故・中島らも氏が「今の文学で面白いと思ったのは彼ぐらいだ」と言ったのには納得できます。ページを埋め尽くした文字量に躊躇するかもしれませんが、反対に読み応えは軽く、テンポを計算された文章を楽しんでもらいたい。

同時収録「人間の屑」が大変面白かった。「夫婦茶碗」よりも「人間の〜」のほうが、町田氏の抱える美学がよりわかりやすい作品になっていると思う。
落語調の語り口、とりとめない思考の巡りをそのまま書き連ねたような、一見無駄とも思えるような極めて改行の少ない文章。しかし全く飽きがこないのは主人公の強烈なキャラクターが確立されているからだろう。
町田氏が一貫して堕落した人間像を描き続けるのは、その対極たる“上昇”というポジティブな世界に生ずる力よりも堕落という“負”の世界に生ずるそれのほうが強いことを感じているからではなかろうか。思えば町田氏の作品には、細部に「勧善懲悪」の感が漂っている気がする。負のパワーで這い上がろうとする勢いがそれにつながっているのだ。
なんの疑いもなくポジティブなことばかりを提唱し続ける輩のなんと無粋なことか。町田氏は、そういったある種の無責任な世間においても希有な存在であると思う。
