中原中也の詩に出会ったのは高校一年の時でした。当初から独特のリズム感、詩が持つ世界の空気感に惹きつけられていました。高校二年の時、教科書に載っていながら授業で取り扱わなかったのをきっかけに購入、有名な詩以外にも魅力的な詩ばかりで買ってよかったと素直に思いました。哀切な響きと、それを包み込むような言葉の柔らかさと温かさ。またそれとは違って、悲しみに胸が締め上げられるような攻撃的なものまで、本当に感動しました。

高校時代、現代国語の教科書に中也の「朝の歌」が載っていた。その耽美な世界に惹かれ、繰り返し読んだ。今でもそらんじることができる。

最近の国語の教科書から遂に鴎外が消え、俵まちが掲載されているというような話を聞いたことがある。さて、中也はどうなのか？
確かに鴎外は比較的難解であるため、文学アレルギーを起こさせるという懸念は分からぬでもない。だからといって「サラダ記念日」ではないであろう。

中也の詩は現在の少年少女達の心と比較的容易にシンパシーを生じるのではないか。中也の詩は文学の深淵なる世界への扉になってくれるのではないかと思う。

比較的平易な言葉で耽美で切ない世界をえがく中也の詩こそむしろ文学の入門書として恰好なのではないか。

多くのファンを持つ中也だが、代表的人物として、元ＹＭＯの高橋幸宏さんがいる。(幸宏さんの世界もまた耽美で切ない)

本書は中也の世界が網羅された必携の一冊であると考える。

　自分も趣味で詩を書いたりしますけど、この人の詩からはだいぶ影響を受けています。
　休むことを知らずに繰り返される日常の中に消えてしまいそうな切ない感情を表現することが、本当に上手い人だと感じました。
