猫尽くしの本です。
特に猫が好きという訳でもないんですが、河合隼雄さんが好きなので読んでみたところ猫が大好きになってしまいました！
谷崎潤一郎の「猫と庄造と二人のおんな」や大島弓子さんの「綿の国星」など、大好きな作品に登場する猫についても詳しく解説されていて、とても新鮮でした。
物語に猫の存在は必然。
人生という物語を生きるにもまた必然。
読んだら必ず猫が飼いたくなるので、ペット禁止のマンションの方は読まない方がいいです。
猫好き垂涎の一冊！

　猫と犬とはどうしてあれほどまでに対照的なのだろう。犬は従順で人に好かれて飼われている。しかし、猫のイメージといえば、何を考えているのかわからず、自己中心的で自由奔放な野良猫を思い浮かべる。。その一方で、猫はなんとも捉えがたいだけに、逆にその魅力にとりつかれてしまう。自分は男だからか、犬＝男なら猫＝女の子で正直猫を可愛いと感じてしまう。
　猫というものは、そのずる賢く、女性的で神秘的なイメージから国内外を問わずいろいろな物語や伝説に登場している。この本の中にも、猫を題材とした作品が数多く取り上げられていて、実際、それらの作品はとても魅力的で「空とび猫」など思わず買ってしまった作品もあった。「100万回生きた猫」など、この本を通じて知ったのだが、そのあらすじを聞いただけですごく感動した。
　エジプトで神として崇められ、魔女のお供として仕え、また女性的な魅力を兼ね備えた猫という生き物は、多分に自分たちの心を魅了する。この本を通して猫に対する魅力がまた増加した。
　実際には、猫はそんなことを全く意識しているはずもなく、河合先生が猫に騙されるという意味と、魂の顕現という意味をかけて「猫だましい」というタイトルにしたのも、洒落好きの河合先生らしいと思った。

まず初めに言いたいのは、河合先生の語り口、
ついつい惹きこまれてしまいます。
この本には、猫が主人公・脇役の物語がたくさん紹介されています。
そして、世界中で愛される猫達の活躍を、ユング派心理学の第一人者である先生がわかりやすく解説・解釈されています。
猫好きの人なら是非！
猫のこころ・ヒトの心、大切なのはお互いを知ること。ですよね？
