この1巻は山村で繰り広げられる奇怪な事件の最初の部分なのですが、
村の住民各々の視点からじわじわと村で起きていく異変が語られて
そこがもどかしくも面白くもあり。
まだ1巻なので物語は淡々と進んでいきます。
それでもおぞましい描写があり、この次2巻3巻と
もっとすごいシーンがあるのかと思うと買えなくなってしまうかも。
小野 不由美作品はこれが２作目なのですが、書店でみて思わず買ってしまいました。
全5巻ですが1巻からひきこまれるおもしろさです。

以前から読みたかったのだが、単行本２冊はちと高価。ようやく文庫化されたのを機に読み始める。小野不由美初体験なので、とりあえず１~３巻を購入。やたらと多い登場人物に辟易しつつも、閉塞世界で繰り広げられる超常ストーリーにジワジワと引き込まれて行く。３巻目に突入する辺りから面白さは急加速。「これ、なかなか面白いぞ」妻に話す。速読の妻はあっという間に１~２巻を読み終え、私が読みさしの３巻目は、私が酔っ払って寝ているスキに先に読まれてしまった。形勢逆転。妻は間髪入れず４~５巻目を購入、そして一気読み。「た、頼むから先は話さないでくれ！」夫の懇願にフフフと意味ありげに笑う妻。３~５巻は寝る間も惜しんで読み狂った。近頃、これだけ没頭したミステリーは他にない。

とにかく長い。

長すぎる上にこの第一巻はさしたる事件も
起こらないので、正直読んでいて退屈さを感じます。
まだこんなにある、と残りの厚いページを見てガックリ。
ホラーが好きで、長編小説も好きなほうですが、
これはちょっと…と言う感じです。

後で面白くなるそうなので（続刊のレビューを拝見）、
多少の我慢をして何とか読み終わりました。
続く2巻、3巻とどんどん面白くなるようなので、
そちらに期待したいです。
