4.0 out of 5 stars 最後の最後まで物語は終わらない, 2002/8/20
最初は「妖怪物かホラーかな？」と思って読んでいた。
すると、段々、ミステリー色が強くなってきて、
「“魑魅魍魎”は人が仕組んだもの。さて、犯人は一体！？」
という、完全な推理小説パターンになった。
そして、ぐいぐいと物語に引き込まれてしまう。
ところが！
ラストで、文字通り「あっ」と言わされてしまった。

未読の方に、ぜひ、この驚きを味わってもらいたいので、詳しく
は語らないでおくが、最後の最後まで油断せずに読んで頂きたい。

東京と書いて「トウケイ」、を舞台にしたパラレルファンタジー、
と聞いて「帝都大戦系なのかな？」と思って
読んでみました。

でも、やっぱり小野ワールド。
なんかホラーな世界。

話の中心としては、鷹司家に起きる事件です。
その合間に登場する黒衣の男と人形の娘。
全く関係なさそうだったこの二つの軸がしだいに絡み合っていく。
このあたりは上質なミステリー小説風。
でも、じわりじわりと、静かに静かに静かにすべてが進んで
だんだんホラーな世界になっていく。

面白かった、というより耽美で不思議な作品でした。

帝都・東亰に跋扈する闇の者たち
闇御前、火炎魔人、そして黒衣と文楽人形…。

新聞記者の平河と万屋の万造は帝都を騒がせる
魑魅魍魎たちを追っていくうちに鷹司家の御家騒動に
気が付きます。

そして互いに想い合うが故に
せつなくも美しい結末が待っているのです。

ラストがホントに衝撃的です！
さすが小野不由美先生です、驚かされました。
