主人公を問わず登場人物全てのキャラクター設定をお座なりにしない所がこの作家の作品の魅力だと思います。
特にこの作品は脇役の設定が個性的で微笑ましい人物ばかりなので、最後まで飽くことなく読めてしまいます。

内容もGOOD。この主人公設定は個人的に好き。控えめなようで、やる時はやる、誰が相手でも着実に人間関係を築いていけるが決して腹は黒くない。
こういう中庸なキャラクターだからこそ、勿論回りの脇役が引き立つのかもしれませんが。でもこういう人と仕事ができたら、士気は高まるのでは？と思います。

公務員と一般企業は確かに内容は違いますが、仕事を通して自分自身をどうあるべきかを考えさせてくれる一冊でもありました。

某市役所のダメダメ公務員が第三セクターが経営する赤字垂れ流しの遊園地の担当部署へ異動となり、一躍奮起して遊園地経営の改革に乗り出すというストーリーで、どことなく映画「県庁の星」に通ずるところがある。当然脚色されているのだが、あながち嘘とも言えない市役所内部のものすごい官僚構造の中で主人公が一人闘う姿につい感情移入してしまう。うまく主人公の役所における状況と私生活における状況をうまくシンクロさせながら描写しており、途中飽きることなく一気に最後まで読めてしまう。特に役人であれば共感するところも多いと思われるが、それ以外の人が読んでも楽しめる良作である。

同じ風景をぐるぐる回るだけの変化のない世界、それでも回り続けなければならない。
愛するもののために。そう、サラリーマンはけっこうつらいのです。
公務員さんのお仕事ぶりをかなり極端ではありますが、結構言いえてて、公務員の方には身につまされるお話ではなかったでしょうか。
改革されたと思った新市長も蓋を開けてみれば。。。なんてところ、”県庁の星”を思い出しました。
所詮は、しがない一市職員に反抗できるわけもなく、本書の結末はかなり苦い。
荻原浩の小説の登場人物は、いつもどの人も愛らしく、愛情を持って書かれている。
だから読む方も、愛情を持って読んでしまうのです。
