著者略歴 (「BOOK著者紹介情報」より)

伊丹 十三
1933(昭和8)年映画監督伊丹万作の長男として京都に生まれる。映画俳優、デザイナー、エッセイスト、後に映画監督。TV番組、TVCMの名作にも数多く関わり、精神分析がテーマの雑誌「モノンクル」の編集長も務めた。翻訳者としての仕事もあり、料理の腕も一級だった。映画「お葬式」発表以降は映画監督が本業に。数々のヒット作を送り出した後、’97(平成9)年12月没(本データはこの書籍が刊行された当時に掲載されていたものです)

　海外（ヨーロッパ、とりわけパリ）の生活、買い物のこ
だわり（ジャグワー、ドライビンググローブ、ライターな
ど）、英語の発音などについて、筆者の体験談が書かれて
います。

　1960年代に海外で生活し、映画出演しているところなど
はかっこいいですが、中学生・高校生というよりも大学生
からフレッシュマンが読んだほうがいいかと思います。

　中学生から、スパゲッティの巻き取り方について講釈が
できるような人間は、ちょっとどうかなと思います。

　読みやすい文体なので、日曜日の午後にソファーで読むの
に適した本です。

この本では、多才な伊丹十三を再認識するでしょう。
カット図まで描いています。この本は、「随筆をエッセイに変えた本」とうたい文句があります。
目の付け所や、観察眼は、作者独自で、それゆえに引き込まれてゆきます。
文章は断定的ですが、といっても押し付けがましくないし、嫌味でもない。
むしろさわやかでかっこいいですし、1960年代の文章であるにもかかわらず、まったく色あせず、文章は輝いています。
文句なく名作だと思います。

こだわりと粋について網羅されているエッセイ。
また、英語の発音についても氏の俳優としての（ハリウッド映画に出演）経験に基づく見地が卓見。
軽く読めるエッセイであるが、個人的な参考書ともしたい本。
