松本 清張
1909‐1992。小倉市(現・北九州市小倉北区)生れ。給仕、印刷工など種々の職を経て朝日新聞西部本社に入社。41歳で懸賞小説に応募、入選した『西郷札』が直木賞候補となり、1953(昭和28)年、『或る「小倉日記」伝』で芥川賞受賞。’58年の『点と線』は推理小説界に“社会派”の新風を生む。生涯を通じて旺盛な創作活動を展開し、その守備範囲は古代から現代まで多岐に亘った(本データはこの書籍が刊行された当時に掲載されていたものです)

時代背景も違う、もちろん金銭の価値も異なる。しかし、そういったことを感じさせない力強い作品である。黒革の手帳を元に男達から金を引き出すしたたかな原口元子。そして驚愕のラスト。
十分に堪能させて頂いた。

20年以上経ても全く色あせない作品。作者に脱帽である。

主人公の周りにいろいろな人間が都合よく現れることで、読者からすると、「うますぎる」と早々に感じてしまうところがありますが、銀座の夜の世界の生生しさを絶妙な文章運びで表現、読者を引き込みます。社会問題の緻密な取材にもうならされます。暗澹とした終わり方をするので、決して読み終わってすっきりするサスペンスではありませんが、一気に読み終えることができる秀作です。

推理小説・歴史関連とならび松本清張が得意としたその時代特有の社会風俗を巧みに取りいれたサスペンス風俗小説（風俗といっても現在なじみ深い意味での風俗ではありませんので念のため）、

「タフな女」を主人公とした作品として「霧の旗」と双璧ともいえます、
もっともこちらは全くの悪女ですが、物語全体も「悪人」しか登場しない悪漢小説で呼んでもいいものです、

松本清張は「鬼畜」や「わるいやつら」とタイトルそのままの悪人ばかりが登場するという作品を多く残しましたが、評者はここに作者が作家としてどれほど大成功しようとも癒されなかった孤独を感じます、

おそらく本作のアイデアは、作家として成功後上京し、当然のこととして出入りするようになった一見さんお断りの銀座や赤坂の高級クラブでの見聞でしょう、当たり前のようにそんな店に通える恵まれた客達への共感がまったく感じられない松本清張の作風が吉行淳之介や渡辺淳一などとの間に明確すぎるような一線を引いています、

世紀末から清張の再評価が高まっているわけですが、人間は結局はひとりぼっち、という清張の全作品に共通のテーマの普遍性が見直されているのでしょう、
