読み始めたとたん、ぐんぐん山崎豊子の世界に引き込まれました。女性の生き方として圧倒され、大阪の商人とはこういうものなのかと、とても学ぶところが多いと感じました。時代背景は昔ですが、現代の女性企業家には是非一読して欲しい一冊です。

※このレビューはあくまで「読まれる前の方」へのレビューです。

山崎豊子さんの作品にしては1冊モノなので「次の長編モノを読むまえの間にでも・・」と軽く読み始めたら話の濃厚さに見事にハマリました。まさに山崎さんの真骨頂！
読み始めはやはり古い時代（明治）からの出だしなので言い回がちょっと難しいな・・と思いますが、読んでいくほどに見事な内容で大満足。
「波瀾万丈な人生」を書かせたら山崎豊子さんの右に出る人はまずいないでしょうね。しかもこの作品で当時直木賞をとっていたとは。

いつか「朝ドラ」かなにかで松坂慶子さんの主演で是非おねがいしたいような見事な一冊。

「ぼんち」や「しぶちん」も是非読みたいです！！

吉本興業の創業者、吉本せいさんをモデルにした作品であることは周知のことと思われます。ただし、二代目の林庄之助さんは登場しません。吉本興業の経歴をなぞったものではなく、大阪船場の商人の結晶として花菱亭の多加を描いたのではないかと思いました。ぐうたら亭主を支えながら、次第に商売を覚え、船場の商人として成長して行く多加さんの姿は、本当に感動的です。大阪という土地は、人を惹きつけてやまないものがあります。阪神タイガースへの贔屓を見るまでもなく地元への愛着もとても深いです。その理由がようやくわかったような気がします。大阪と言った場合、御堂筋、船場、北浜界隈を指しているでしょう。江戸期に豪商を配し、独特の商人文化がなった町への憧憬は今もって営々と脈打っています。この作品でも、船場の作法が随所に伺われてとても興味深く、大阪弁の魅力も味わうことができました。お客さんを喜ばすことを家業にしている吉本興業が、船場の伝統を受け継ぐ企業であることを改めて知ることができました。船場の喧騒が聞こえてくるような味わいの深い作品でした。
