内容を確認せずに注文したのですが、開いてびっくり！
ほば全てのページに掲載されている写真は興味深い物が多く、
めくっていくだけでわくわくします。彼の自筆譜や肖像画はもちろん、
たとえばショパン家のサロンやそこで使っていたピアノ、
学生時代に描いた漫画、、、、などショパンが好きな人には、ぜひとも
手元に置いてほしい一冊です。また音楽評論家遠山一行氏の文章は読みやすく、
ショパンの芸術の本質と人間像を読者に伝えることに成功しています。

題名のとおり、ショパンの生涯について書かれた本です。
ショパンの両親の話から、ショパンが生まれ、育っていく過程が年をおって書かれています。
驚くのは、この本の写真の多さ。
全体の半分近くのページを写真に割いています。
文章だけでは分からない、ショパンが過ごした場所の景色や様子を感じることができます。
ショパンと関わった多くの人の肖像画もあります。

ショパンの生涯について、簡潔にまとめられているので、興味のある人はぜひ読んで下さい。
