もう１０年以上前に読んだ本だが、佐藤藍子主演（TVデビュー作ではなかったか）でドラマ化されたせいもあり、細部まで良く覚えている本である。
読後感はただ一言「怖い」だった。当時ダビスタにはまり、週末金曜に帰宅してから日曜に寝るまでダビスタをし、平日は仕事をサボっては読書という生活をしていたこともあり、本当に怖かった。
私にとってはホラーとも言える作品である。

この本は、ミステリというよりは、サスペンスと呼んだほうが合うかもしれません。
たしかにミステリの要素はありますが、犯人が誰かを見つけ
出すという物ではありません。
ですが、ジャンル分けなんてどうでもいいことなのでしょう。
決して短くはない量を、苦もなく読ませてくれる作者の文章力。
綿密に調べられた情報を元に、練り上げられた構想。

そして、SFという特殊な設定にもかかわらず、完璧なまでの整合性もって
驚愕のラストに読者を導いてくれます。
文句なしに、おすすめできる一冊です。

コンビを解消してしまったことが、本当に悔やまれます。

ヴァーチャルリアリティの恐怖を描いたＳＦモノの傑作。最初は自らが書いた作品がゲーム化されると聞き、喜び勇んでテストモニターになったのだが、そのあまりにもリアルなヴァーチャルの世界に引き込まれ、いつしか現実と虚構の境がつかなくなる。スピード感あふれるストーリーに引き込まれると同時に、ラストの展開に恐怖を感じずにはいられない。
