　ギリシア旅行記の『ギリシアで虫干。』と「本」のエッセイ『ほんじょの虫干。』の２つから構成されるエッセイ集。
　
　『ギリシアで虫干。』はプライベート写真が満載で、自筆のイラストや自作の短歌がたっぷり入っています。イラストは巧い上に、ホテルの見取図が緻密に描かれています。ギリシアに旅行に行ったほんじょさんが実に羨ましい、そしてギリシアに行きたくなる様な文章です。

　『ほんじょの虫干。』は話が脱線する事が多く、文章が巧いとは思えません。『ほんじょの虫干。』で取り上げられる本の選び方に統一性が有りません。しかし、心が癒される暖かい雰囲気の文章です。

　度々食べ物に関する文章が有り、食べ物に対する強いこだわりや愛情が読み手に伝わる事から、「本当にほんじょさんは食べる事が好きなのだなぁ」と感じられました。芸能人のエッセイに有りがちな媚び媚びのムードが無く、本上まなみさんの優しさと暖かさがストレートに伝わる内容になっていますので、本上まなみさんのファン以外の人にも是非読んで欲しいです。

　亡くなられた中島らもさんの解説が泣かせます。

　著名人・有名人がどんな本を読んでいるのか、どんな本が好きなのか、気になることはありませんか？

　自らを「ほんじょ」と呼ぶ自称・本好きの「ほんじょ」さん。短大で日本文学を専攻していたとあって、絵本からコミック、文豪の作品と幅広く愛読しているらしいことが伺えました。

ほわーん、のほほんとしたほんじょさんらしい文章でのびのびと書かれているエッセイ。
　ギリシア旅行記や美味しそうな食べ物の話、短歌なども意外な一面を発見できて「本上まなみ」さんが「ほんじょ」さんとして興味深く魅力的に思える一冊でした。

　ほんじょさんの読んだ本や、旅行記をまとめたもの◎
芸能人の書いた本はあんまり…と思っていたけど、TVなんかでほんじょさんを見て知っているからこそ思い浮かべて楽しめる、きちょーな一冊！！

そこいらに居そうなほんじょさん。でもこんなに、素直に物事に感動できる人、あんまりいないだろうなあ~。まさに、才能。別に特別なことをしているわけでもないのに、ここまで日常を愛すべきものにできるほんじょさんには、やられた！！文章だって、とってもうまいわけじゃない。だけど、この人、分かってる。自分と、自分が作る空気を言葉で表現できてる。

なにげない出会いの本だったのに…！！！ここ最近で、いちばん楽しめた本☆
