おこられることがこんなにつらいと思っている「ぼく」。
ぼくは「わるいこ」なんやろか……と、自問する姿がせつない。
忙しさにかまけて、子どもたちを叱りとばしながらやり過ごした日々が
私にはあった。
みんな大きくなった今となっては、取り返しのつかない日々だ。

深読みしすぎかもしれないが、「ぼく」の家族はおとうさんがいないのでは
ないだろうか。
描かれた家の室内の写真立て、壁に貼られた絵はおかあさんだけ。
室内に男物のものはなにもない。
だとすれば、この子の母親の気持ちも、ぐっと迫ってくるのだ。
ふたりの子を必死で育てる毎日。
仕事と家事と、子育て。
ついつい多くを上の子に望むあまりに、小言が噴き出してしまう。
誉めるより先に、「こうあって欲しい」という気持ちが先走ってしまう。

七夕さまに祈りをこめて書いた「おこだでませんように」のことば。
「おかあちゃんの　たからものやで」というひとことが、
「ぼく」はどんなに嬉しかっただろうね。

私は、胸いっぱいだ。

小学校教員でもある、くすのきさんの実体験がもとになった作品。
男の子が七夕の短冊に書いた願い事がそのままタイトルになっています。

子どもだったら素直に「○○ができるように」とか「○○が欲しい」とか
「○○になりたい」なんて短冊に書きたくなると思います。
ところがそこに「おこだれませんように」という願いを見つけた作者は
涙が出そうになったそうです。毎日怒られてばかりいる男の子が
たどたどしい文字でそれを書くに至った心情はいかなるものだったのか？

絵本はそんな男の子の側の視点で描かれているので、誰もが子どもの頃
をふりかえり、共感できるものが多くあると思います。
大人としての立場から、ついつい子どもを怒ってしまいがちなとき
この願いを思い出すといいかもしれません。

そういう意味では子どもと正面から向かい合いたい大人向けの絵本と言えます。

２年生の息子が「おもしろそうやから買うて」と・・・。
「ふ〜ん」程度に思って買ってやった。

子供はさっさと読み終えて、本はテーブルの上に。
「おもしろかった？」と聞くと、「おもしろかったでー」。
他に感想ナイんかい、と内心ツッコミながら
私も手にとって読んでみた。


うそやん、
泣いてもた。


読み進んでいくうちに、展開もわかってくるのに、
なんでこんなにグッと来たんやろ。

この本、子供向けと違うやん。
大人向けやん。

あたしはどうなんやろ。
ちゃんと子供と向き合ってるやろか、
目線は同じ高さやろか。
上から決め付けて言うてないやろか、
大人の都合でモノ言うてないやろか。


ものすごいええ本に出合えたわ。
