4.0 out of 5 stars ともて綺麗な画集です, 2007/2/12
１つ１つの絵が大きくて見やすいです。印刷も綺麗。
収録されている絵も代表作は大体入っていて、この価格でこの内容は中々お買い得じゃないでしょうか。

それにしても
モネ、ルノワール、ゴッホ、ピカソ、ダ・ヴィンチ、ゴヤ、カルヴァッチョ・・・
これだけのビッグネームが名を連ねている中で、何故セザンヌの名がないのか謎です。
マネなどはモネやルノワール、レンブラントはカラヴァッチョなどと被るなどでカットされたのでしょうが・・・
メジャー向けの画集なんですから、１年完結ならウォーホルの代わりにセザンヌにしておくべきだったのでは？
本邦初の画集になるらしいモリゾは素晴らしかったです。

モネは睡蓮など連作も多いですが、それぞれの違いって説明できます？
この本を見て「こんなに違ったっけ？」と思ってしまいました。
たしか子どもの時に美術館でみた睡蓮の色合いは、見開きの睡蓮で言えば上の方だったはず。（笑）
でも、好きなのは下の方の睡蓮。
モネの作品の輝きを再発見できるすばらしい本ですが、
そんな素敵な作品を一目で見比べられるところがさらに素敵な本です。
絵を楽しむための本ですね。

モネの作品を制作傾向の変遷とともに主要作品を紹介。
有名作品とその習作やモチーフになったものが収録されているという画集としてはオーソドックスな作りである。
解説はそこそこで、絵を眺めながらには適当な量である。解説文のなかの用語については用語集が設けられており親切である。

この大きさの版であるから致し方ないところではあるが、有名作品がページ見開きに渡っての収録になっているものもある。

印刷の色は良好。価格も比較的お手頃。版型、薄さ、価格、シリーズと考えると、シリーズの順次刊行を待ちながら気に入った作家のものを購入するというのにはバランスの良い本である。
