前巻があるからこその物語だと思います。
シリーズ化したんだからそれでいいんですけど。

カヴルの闇だった砂嵐の町にシムシムが植えられ、新たな町として公表されます。
ジゼットは町のためにカヴルで事情を知る園長とハディクと会議を重ね…より良い形で、砂嵐の町を沙漠の民に知らせようと努力します。
一方ラビサは園丁見習いとして頑張っているんですが、自分が必要とされているのかどうか不安になりジゼットと喧嘩したり。

憎しみの向こうには、もっと強い感情がある。
誰かを、自分を、守りたい。だから武器をとる。
その思いは憎しみなどの悪い感情よりも強い思いのはず…。

ライトノベルなんですけど、何かを考えさせられる物語です。
文章はテンポよく、笑う場面も多々あるのに、すごく伝えたいことがある。


個人的にラビサとジゼットの関係が気になりますね（笑）
親友みたいだけど、ジゼットは明らかにラビサに惚れてるし、ラビサも気になってるし。
たぶん両思いになったとしても友達みたいなままなんだろうなぁ。

前作「楽園の種子」を読んだことがきっかけで、
今作を読みました。
が、とても続編とは思えないです。もともとは
一つだった物語を２冊に分けた「前編・後編」
といった方が適切なくらい、前作から完全に
繋がっています。作者の方は当初から今作の
アイデアを考えていたのでしょうか。

文学的なコメントはできないので、一社会人として
のコメントですが、もし前作の後に今作のアイデアを
考えたのだとしたら、作者はビジネスマンとしても
大きなプロジェクトを率いていけるだろうあぁという
印象です。
前作で明らかになった課題、その課題を解決させるために
想定され得る問題点等々がきっちり反映されています。

内容的にも前作以上になっていると思うので、前作を読まれた方には
おすすめです。
（前作を読んでいないと世界観、単語の意味がわからないため）
