「完本」じゃないほうの居酒屋大全は１０年も前に読んで、あんまりおもしろかったから人に貸したきり返ってこないのを思い出して、買ってみた。当時も何度か読んでいるので内容は「そうそう」と記憶に残っているのだが、それでも笑ってしまった。ニヤリの箇所もあれば大笑いの箇所（電車の中で笑いをこらえられなくて困った）もある。たとえば血液型別居酒屋での様子。私なぞ、数名で居酒屋に行くと全部２皿づつ頼む人がいて、味のわかっている店ならいいがそうでない店ではやめてほしいと思うのだが、そういう人はＯ型「給食型」だそうだ。私はといえば、まずはこれを頼み、次にはこれ、最後にはこれ、とコースで考える人間で、こういうのはＡ型「グルメ型」だそうだ。まさにそのとおりである。ではＢ型はと知りたくなったらこの本を読むべし。内容は、酒を飲みながら酒の肴や店のあり方などについてかくあるべしと酔っぱらいが議論しているだけなのだが、いたるところに「そうだよね」と共感することしきり（時代は若干違うけどということは考慮しても）。であるから酒飲まない人は読んでもつまらないと思います。

実は一人で居酒屋に入ったことはありません。
どうも気が引けるんだなぁ。一人だと、手持ちぶさたになりそうで、、、

居酒屋で美味しい酒と肴と共に一人の時間を過ごしてみたい。
俺も、そういうことが出来てもいい歳だしね。

折角、色々な所に旅するんだから、自分の足と目で良い居酒屋を探すのもいいなぁ。。。

　1990年に講談社から出た『居酒屋大全』に、いくつかの短文を加え、全体としても加筆訂正を行ったもの。
　日本酒と居酒屋を愛する居酒屋研究会を結成した著者が、「真の居酒屋とはこうあるべきだ！」というのを雑多に書き連ねた一冊。架空の座談会がベースになっているのだが、いかにも居酒屋でやってそうな議論で、面白い。座談会の合間に挟まれるのが、血液型による飲酒の性向分析とか居酒屋・客種別酔態表などである。どれも簡潔に図表か・特徴がまとめられており、非常に楽しめる読み物となっている。
　どうせ居酒屋なんだし、楽しくやろうよという著者の態度がはっきりしていて、それを受け入れられれば面白く読めるだろう。しかし、まじめに読もうとするとだめ。まあ、いってしまえば、本物の居酒屋で屈託なく楽しめる人には好まれ、居酒屋なんて好きじゃないよという人には嫌われる本ということになろう。
　途中で中だるみがあり、ネタもつきてくるところが残念。
　私自身は酒も飲まないし、居酒屋に行くことも稀なのだが、満足いく一冊であった。
