大評判となった前作「秘境駅へ行こう！」の続編。その前作を、ホームページを読んでから買ったが、旅情を誘うようで誘わない、廃墟手前の駅の数々、そして駅周辺のすたれ具合…。「秘境駅」の世界を堪能した。

筆者も述べているように、前作では、駅寝や雪中行軍を敢行しながら、血眼になって秘境駅をめぐる、駅訪問を第一の目的としていた。本作では、旅そのものを楽しもうとする姿勢に変わってきている。

したがって内容は、前作ほど衝撃性はないが、その分、駅の周辺とか駅を利用する人々、そして駅の将来に思いをはせるなど、旅の余韻を味わう姿勢が、行間から伝わってくる。新たな秘境駅の楽しみ方を実践、提案している。
（失礼ながら）「好き者の日記」であることは前作と同じだが、より旅情を!誘う内容となっている。

ネットから生まれた本である。読後、筆者のホームページを見ていない方はぜひ見てほしい。（読む前の予習としてもおすすめ）

前作「秘境駅へ行こう！」は、ややマニアックな感じのする
内容（そこまでするか！というような）もあったが、今回は
普通の人にも比較的分かりやすい内容になっている。

文章も決して堅苦しくなく、「行ってみたい！」という気に
させる。旅情を誘う良書。

写真がカラーならもっと良かったのだが……。

秘境駅への到達記を淡々と述べる前作と比較して、秘境駅が生まれた歴史的経緯の説明が増えて、読み物として面白くなっている。現地現物主義のコンセプトは変わらず、続き物として違和感なく読める。
