雷撃深度一九・五（池上司　著）、総員退艦せよ（リチャードＦニューカム著、亀田正訳）、に続いてこの本を読んだ為に、「そんなきれい事かよ！」と突っ込みたくなってしまった。池上氏ほど潜水艦ヲタクでなくても読めるし、ニューカム氏ほど現実を突きつけて来る事も無い。適度に枝葉が取り除かれて、読みやすくなっていると思います。あの時代では考えられない夢物語ですが、現代人にはこのくらい咀嚼してあげないと、飲み込めないのも現実かなと納得しています。どこまで映像化できるのか楽しみです。

終戦直前の日本海軍の状況や、潜水艦戦の常識などの考証不足、あるいは米国人にはありえない浪花節的思考をする米海軍の船長など、ストーリーに「無理!」と思わせる部分が多く見られました。そういったことを気にしなければ、エンターテイメントとしてはよくできています。
裏表紙には「エンターテイメント映画を完全ノベライズ」とあるので、脚本が先にできたのでしょう。小説的な複雑さ(伏線)はなく、映像的な単純さがそのまま活字になっています。なにしろ第1章の日付を見たときに予想した通りの結末でした。
映画は見ていませんが、監修とはいえ、福井さんの本としてはいまいちでした。

さすがは福井晴敏と言えるメッセージ性ある物語でした。
今回　文章は別の人が書いているので少し心配しいた点もあったのですが　内容的におもしろくて　一気に２日間で読んでしまいました。
『終戦のローレライ』とは　また違った潜水艦乗りの物語であり作者の奥深さが感じられた作品でした。
