著者の本を初めて読んだオッサンです。活字も大きく、会話も多いのですが、読了するのに時間がかかりました。というのも、会話はキャッチボールと言いますがそうでない会話が多いこと、比喩なのだろうけれど想像できない例えが多いこと、主人公の心の揺れと同調できないことが多く、何度も読み返していたためです。
ただし映像化すれば、うまく流れるような気がします。
結論として、オッサンには向かない本と言えるでしょう。すみません。

西加奈子さんの本は初めて読みました。
「さくら」もベストセラーになっていたのは知っていましたが、なんとなく読みそびれ・・・
文庫化を機会に「あおい」を読んでみました。

表現がうまい、美しい、詩的、な作家は多々居ると思うのですがこのひとの表現は感覚的でいて、日常離れしていない感じがします。
ストーリーもたいしたことはない筋なのに、リアリティがあり、読んだあとには
この本が大好きになってしまいました。
刺激的ではないけれど
またきっと読み返す本に、入ります。

西加奈子を好きになったきっかけの一冊。
ふわふわとやわらかな文章と内容の力強さ。
主人公さながら、風間君に惹かれてしかたない。
中盤あたりから終りにかけての疾走感がたまらない。ぐんぐんと勢いが増してゆく。
読了後は清々しく気持ちが澄みわたり、裸足で大地にたっているような気分になった。
