２時間ドラマの原作かと思わせるノリで、話は展開していく。医学小説にしては、いま一歩、専門性に踏み込んでおらず、心理小説にしては、登場人物の心理描写に深まりがなく、当然ながら悪くはないのだが、気楽に読める、ドラマである。このノリの軽さは、登場人物が骨太ではないからか、あるいは、展開が表層的であるからなのか。
栄子と試験管を取り合った、葉月はその破片で指を切ってしまい、栄子は青ざめるのであるが、この結末を描く描写は、拍子抜けのような気がしてならない。

1/3くらい読んだところで、タイトルから想像して見えた結末はその通りだった。
私自身が薬学出身なので、その知識のせいかもしれない。あるいは登場人物の人間関係が単純なため、推理しやすかったこともある。
しかし一般の人が読むには、免疫に関する説明が不足しているように思う。
ネタは新鮮だが、手法は古色蒼然。個人的には並の☆3つ。

先に「転生」を読んでしまったので、作品の発表順とは逆になってしまいましたが、スピード感溢れる展開は、同様で読みやすい作品です。

テーマは、臓器移植です。

ウイルス感染症を研究する「仲沢葉月」が主人公で、夫「啓介」は、アメリカ留学中に臓器移植を経験している高名な医者だが、家庭での会話は殆ど無い。

その「啓介」に掛かってくる電話、謎の行動。
前妻との間にもうけた「啓介」の子供「宏」の誘拐事件をきっかけに、「葉月」が謎に迫っていきます。
「葉月」が、何故「啓介」が前妻と別れ自分と再婚したのかに思い至る場面が非常にやるせないですが....。

重いテーマではありますが、平易な表現になっていて万人が楽しめる娯楽作品です。
