　御存知ギザ・ネクロポリスの建造物（大スフィンクス、三大ピラミッド、衛星ピラミッド、参道、河岸神殿等）が如何に時の天球運動を地上の建築物に、それも超高精度に再現しようとしていたかをスリリングかつエキサイティングに追究していった探究の書。
　結論としてはスフィンクス下の未発掘の最重要地下室を推定しておりその発掘が今後の調査に決定的な要素となることが明言されているが、本書の原書が出て早十年、調査は進んでいないようだ。本書は同時に、生粋のエジプト人ザヒ・ハワス博士やケーシー財団から支援を受けて身を立てたマーク・レーナー博士という尊敬すべきエジプト学の権威者たちへの開かれた批判の書であり、将来の発掘が国際的に完全に開かれたかたちで進められることを切に願った希望の書でもある。
　管見では、天空の星座は宇宙全体に比して一領域にすぎない銀河内の互いに座標が全く違う恒星関係を地球に注がれるエネルギーがより大きいものを順に神話的に理解したものに過ぎない。だから、よく見える星というのはエネルギーが少々低くても近い星か、遠くてもエネルギーが十分大きい星には違いないものの、天体物理的には恒星間に関係はないと考えねばならない。確かに不滅の生を望み万年単位の天体の観測実績を持っていたとしか考えられない太古のエジプト人は、そんなものを地上の巨石で表現しようとしていたのだろうか？それとも、著者の言うようにもっと深い意味が隠されているのだろうか。著者たちはピラミッドとスフィンクスを実際に建設した太古のエジプト人の命運には言及していない。その高度さを、まず読者と共に確認しようとしているだけなのだ。それが神によって実現したとも、宇宙人によって実現したとも、はたまたアトランティス人によって成されたとも言っていない。しかし、それらを否定してもいない。

一連のハンコックの本の中で一番最初に（惑星、、、は面白いけど
いま思えば弱いとおもう）
読むべきだとおもう。この本を読むことでロバートボーヴァル
や、サンサ、ウエストなどの関係を知ることができるので、後々
ハンコックを知る上で重要だとおもう。
この本の最後は年々書き加えられているようで、自分が買った

本も何度が付け加えられた後があった。
手にした本が修正がくわえられているのかどうかは、運かもしれないが
休みなく研究を続ける男の姿がすばらしい。
内容もオカルトに転がることもなく、丁寧だとおもう。神々の世界では
シッチンの事も書かれていて驚いたが、こちらの本は正統派学者
に素人が立ち向かうような構図で描かれていておもしろい。
