本書は小林氏にとって『戦争論』(3冊160万部)以来の勝負作らしいです。
オウムに殺されかけても台湾入国禁止になっても何ともない、最もタブーを恐れない作家は「天皇」をどう描くのか?と興味を持ちつつ読みましたが内容は結構マイルドで。
まあ漫画家が正論を言わざるを得ないほど学者がおかしなこと言ってますからね。
娯楽として成り立つように描いているところはさすがです。
天皇には、近代国家の「立憲君主」としての側面と、古代から連なる「祭司王」としての側面がありますが、後者の知識はなかったので大変興味深かったです。
買って損はないですよ。

作品中に出てくる著者の少年時代。憲法を授業で習い、
「そうか、国民主権か、じゃあ「象徴」の天皇は国民の意志でどうにでもなるんだ」。

・・・僕も自分が小学生の頃、社会の授業で全く同じ感想を持ちました。
小林氏が本書で書いているような天皇観を持つようになったのは、長じてから、
というより社会人になってから随分な時間が経過した後だったと記憶します。
それくらい教育の「刷り込み」効果は強い。

国民を思う無私の祈り、不可侵の神聖なるものとして国体の中心・拠り所として連綿と
続いてきた皇室。「天皇制」や「天皇家」といった天皇を相対化する語彙がいかに本質を
見ていないか、のような基礎的な内容からはじまって逐一、「絶対的存在」としての天皇に
迫った快著。

・・・と、言うか、本来義務教育で国民が遍く授けられて当然の知識、と思いますが、
本書を読んで「開眼」したひとが多ければ多いほど日本の教育はオカシイ、ということになる。

個人的にはひさびさに胸が熱くなりました。
著者は「戦争論」では敢えて天皇に深く言及せず、その時の
思いを本書にこめたそうですが、その言葉通りの力作と思います。

　本当に素晴らしいです。

　とにかく画に魅せられます。天皇陛下、そして皇后陛下の描かれ方にうかつにも泣きそうになりました。(特に私は右翼とか信者ではありません...）

　今回の作品は全編漫画で構成されており、内容は大変わかりやすいです。
　本帯に「入門書」と記されていますが、この「入門」を正確に理解している人は私達普通に生活している人の中にはいないでしょう。なぜなら、これまで一部の団体や人々により間違った「入門」を教えられたり、または意図的に教えられてこなかったからです。
　
　皇室を正しく理解することは、日本という国の捉え方、歴史認識の変革につながります。ですから、本書の内容を把握する人々が今後増えることを願います。そうなることで一部の団体や人達は大変厳しい状況に立たされることになるでしょう。
　今後の日本も捨てたものではありません。

　読後感はスッキリです。日本に生まれて恵まれてるなと改めて思いました。

　言論人、芸術家、職人としてもっともっと評価されるべき先生ですね。
