日本の恐ろしい真実は、長年の間、「鉄のトライアングル」（政・官・財の癒着）によって、封印されてきた。本書は、トライアングルからオクタゴンへと巨大化した邪悪な利権制度の実態を暴き、それを粉砕するための方法を著述した日本論である。

著者が主張し続けている「平成維新」とは、比喩的に言えば、沈没する巨大なタイタニック号（中央集権制度）から、11の小さなボート（道州制）に乗り移り、消費者主体の国家に変貌し、再出発しよう、という主旨である。そしてこれを基に、政治や経済分野をはじめ、教育や愛国心に至るまで、数々の問題点を挙例し、「国民」を主語に、具体的な解決策を提案している。

巻末の「大前流日本再生プラン11か条」にある一つひとつの項目が、近い将来、実行に移され、高齢化社会に安心して生活できるよう、切に願いたい。

現在は７月１１日、選挙当日。
８日あたりから一部の大手書店の店頭やこのアマゾンから
大前研一著「日本の真実」が消えていた。
（発売~７月７日あたりまではビジネス書部門で９位の売り上げ。）
「大前研一」で検索してみるといい。
明らかに検索でこの本がヒットしにくいようになっている。
（選挙後は元に戻るかもしれないが・・）

選挙にあたってこの本を読まれると都合の悪い者による
書店への圧力であろう。
今の日本の国家権力はここまでやるのか・・。

大前氏がこれまでタブー視されてきた内容にまで踏み込んで言及。

マスコミからの情報を鵜呑みにせず、自分の頭で考えられる
力を身につけろと氏は主張されます。

日本の癒着構造もよくわかります。
ファクトベースで物事を考えるコンサルならではの視点で
危険をかえりみず日本の真実を暴露した大前氏に頭が下がります。

ちなみに、なぜか売れているはずのこの本、本屋では全く
見かけません・・・。これも鉄のオクタゴンのせい？
