行政の「燃える・燃えない」表記を、「燃やせる？・燃やせない？」という方向にシフトさせた点で評価はできる。
　しかし、正しいゴミの分別は “燃やす”ゴミ・“燃やさない”ゴミである。
著者らの、こういった認識のズレが 本書において悪いきっかけをつくってしまったようである。

　本書の著者らは「（燃える燃えないの）分からないゴミについて,
清掃局は消費者に答える義務がある」
として、いちいち担当部局に ただしたそうだ。

　たしかに清掃局は市民からの質問に答える義務はあるだろう。
しかし、著者らは、本書を「書くために」、つまり印税で収入を得るために問合せをしているはず。
ただす立場になどないし、その欲望に清掃局が答える義務もない。
「おこたえいただく」のが著者らが最低限わきまえる姿勢のはずである。

　こういった傲慢さ・勘違いをもとに、本書は「この自治体では回答がなかった」と、いちいちあげつらっているが、そういった努力のどこが、本来の目的たる「ゴミの減量化」につながっているというのか。
そういった点での工夫には一切言及がない。（紙は燃えるゴミだそうである）

　結果、本書は、いわゆる 人の捨てたゴミを腑分けする「ゴミばばあ」に、最もその行動論拠を与えるものである。
企画・着眼点はいいのに、じつに惜しい。
本来★★であるが、着眼点に免じて★3つ
