西加奈子さんの小説を始めて読みました。読みやすい。ストーリーはわかりやすいし、人物像も鮮明。ちょっとくどい感じもありますが、若者を対象にしているのでしょう。構造的にしっかりしているので、最後に納得できます。それでいて驚きもある。うまいです。

中二の少女・緑の家族は、祖母、母、従姉、その娘と女だらけ。その女だらけの家族のなかで自分を見つめ直す緑の話がメイン。そこにいれば癒されるあまーい世界が展開されています。そこに還っていくか、そこから出て行くかというのが、日本の青年や少女を主人公にした小説の王道テーマ。その意味では基本に忠実です。普通に読むと癒し小説に読める。

でも、この小説では、その母性世界のうさん臭さがだんだん明らかになっていきます。そこがうまい。だから、挿入されるいろんな人の告白が命です。二つの殺人事件、年齢差のある恋。物語を直線的に語らないのが流行とはいえ、よく練られていると思います。

ある年齢以上の人は、最後のアントニオ猪木で絶対泣けます。

14歳の緑。
多分自分と同世代。
なんとなく彼女の生きている時間が
自分と重なって、何故か懐かしく感じられる作品でした。

小気味良い関西弁と
魅力的な人物たち。
西さんの魅力が十二分に発揮された作品です。

その緑の物語に
棟田さんという女性の独白が絡んでくる。
最初この女性(最初は名前さえ分からない)が
物語にどう絡んでいくのか、と思って読んでいったけど、
途中からようやくの関係が分かる。
棟田さんの心情が切なくて・・・。

しかし、あえてこの物語の途中に挿入すべきものなのか?という
疑問も湧いたことは事実ですが･･･。

棟田さんの独白だけではなく、
緑の母や、祖母の独白も入り込み、
ちょっと複雑な展開にもなったりしますが、
この辺もう少し違う書き方でも良かったのかな?とは思った。
しかしそうは思うんだけど、
母親や祖母の気持ちや歴史(?)もよく分かって
それはそれでいいのかな、とも思えてしまうから不思議だ。

ちょっぴり切なくて、
でもすごく温かいお話でした。

『こうふくあかの』に続き、読みました。是非一気に読んでください。
思いっきりの大阪弁、二つの物語が交錯しながらの進行は、
『こうふくあかの』と同様です、内容は全く別物ですが。
最後には繋がると解っていながら、どんどんはまっていきます。

１４歳の辰巳緑をとりまく家庭環境は、かなり特殊。
３代同居の女ばかりの家族がかもしだす雰囲気は何とも言えない心地よさですが、
本当のところは・・・

この２冊で間違いなくファンになりました。
そして、なぜアントニオ猪木がいまだに崇拝されているのかも、ちょっと理解できました。
