　日記形式で綴られた短い文章。それを彩る挿絵は、宇宙百貨でもおなじみの、あの気持ち悪くてかわいい猫や、そのほか怪しげな面々。日記の内容も面妖である。冬眠したり、鳥と話したり。しかも冬眠から覚めると、子供たちが二倍の大きさにふくらんでいる。それでも「湿度の関係か？」などど、妙に冷静だ。

　綴られた毎日は不思議だけれど、とにかく奇想天外な話を書いてやろう、という感じではない。そこにはしっかりと生活の匂いがして、「のん気」とか「おかしみ」というような言葉がよく似合う。次々におかしなことに巻き込まれながらも飄々としている、主人公の毎日のリズムが心地よい。

日記である。子持ちの母親の日記であるが、いろいろな出来事が起こる不思議な日記である。モグラと話をしたり、冬眠をしたり・・・。川上弘美さんの短編のさらに短短編というかんじで、いきなり変なこと（日記を書いてる人はそれが普通？）が毎日起きる。読んでて楽しい。山口マオさんの絵もよくあっていて、文と絵があいまって私をさらに不思議な空間に連れて行ってくれる。
